Are you interested in sharing your love of all things BBQ with others? At BroBBQ, we are always looking for talented guest bloggers to write for us. Read on to find out what types of articles we accept and how to submit them. But first, we will tell you a little more about our company and our mission.

Who Are We?

Founded by Jack Thompson, BroBBQ is a comprehensive one-stop website dedicated to the barbecue niche. Whether you prefer to smoke or grill your meats, we take you through it step-by-step by providing recipes, tips & tricks, unbiased equipment reviews and more!

Our motto is “A world without BBQ smoke is a dull world.” Help us spread the smoke by contributing guest posts related to your love of barbecue.

You are more than welcome to submit your post as a guest article to be featured on our website in one of the following categories:

  • Product Reviews (unbiased only, no promotional articles)

Whether you’re a professional grill-master or a self-taught burger flipper, our readers would love to read your experiences and barbecuing recommendations.

Tone of Articles

While we are committed to our writers having a unique voice, we have specific tone and style expectations of those who want to write for us. Our readers have high standards and crave quality, in-depth articles, and not fluff pieces.

We pride ourselves on being a positive, inclusive influence to all types of people. A love of barbecue is appreciated, but not a prerequisite. BBQ doesn’t discriminate based on ethnicity, creed or culture. But we do have some basic guest post guidelines.

Our ultimate goal is to give our readers informative articles written in a friendly, yet professional tone, as if sharing advice and stories amongst friends. We don’t publish articles with foul language or content that can be perceived as divisive.

As a guest contributor, please note that we don’t post anything that’s offensive, off-color or polarizing. If it doesn’t fit our standards, don’t submit it.

Your Author Bio

We want to give you due credit as the author for your article. When you are ready to submit an article, please include your full name, a short bio, and your author photo.

Additionally, we allow one link to your personal website, plus 2 links to an outside resource of your choosing.

Please only submit 1 article at a time and we reserve the right to edit your article for clarity and content if needed. We don’t pay for guest posts at this time.


Writing guest blogs can be overwhelming without some direction. Here are a few guidelines to get you started:

1. Pick Your Own Topic

We don’t have a list of topics for you. It is your responsibility as the author to come up with your own topic, do the research and write the article.

If you have an idea for an article, write it and then we will publish it if it meets our guidelines listed above and is something our readers would enjoy.

2. Original Posts Only!

Please don’t just copy and paste content from another website or spin the content. That isn’t fair to our readers or the original author. We accept submissions with the belief they are sent to us with integrity and unique content.

Our readers expect a high level of quality and readability. Use proper spelling and grammar. Grammarly is a free service that allows you to check your work for spelling and grammar errors before submitting it to us.

3. Great Title

A great title is something that catches the interest of the reader to make them want to keep reading. The internet has a short attention span, so the title needs to be short and catchy.

Equally as important as a great title is a great opening line or paragraph. You’ve got their attention; now you have to keep it!

4. Photos Optional

If you are familiar with websites that provide free photos, you are welcome to include a photo in your article if the photo enhances the content. Be sure to credit the photo and provide a link to the photo source and any other sources you use.

Unsplash and Pixabay are two great resources for free stock photos to include in your articles if you prefer to do so when you submit an article. But again – it’s not required.

5. Word Count

Articles should be between 1000 and 1500 words. An accepted guest post would typically include an intro, 2 or 3 subheadings with paragraphs expounding on each subheading and a final summary paragraph. All articles should be related to barbecue in some way.

This isn’t a school essay. You won’t be graded, but proper spelling and grammar are expected from you as the author. Paragraphs should be 2-3 short sentences. Remember what we said about the short attention span of the collective internet?
